What I teach

I teach and run The Coders Club. I've been coding for almost three years. I know three computer programing languages. HTML (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and JS (JavaScript). As well as four JS frameworks. These languages are used to make the website you are on right now and all the other ones you visit. So , that's what I'm here to share with you. To learn more about what I teach visit the classes page.

How Started Coding

One thanks giving day I told my uncle I wanted to learn how to code so I could write apps for hardware. He had been programing for 20 years so he was just the person to ask. We (or should I say he) worked on a JavaScript game for 5 hours. After we made a very basic game he told me I should go to Khan Academy to learn to code. This is when I first starting coding first I learned a terrible JavaScript frame work called processingJS. This language was so limited I decided to do something else. HTML, CSS, and later JavaScript. Sound familiar? This what I teach!

Why should your child code?

Although, I don't know your child I can still strongly recommend they learn to code. Learning to code gives your child the skillset to program anything but it also helps teach your child logic.

"I think everyone in this country should learn to program a computer because it teaches you how to think"-Steve Jobs, Founder of Apple

"Whether our children want to become farmers, doctors, teachers, or entrepreneurs, it’ll be easier for them to achieve their dreams in the digital age if they have some background in computer science. We need our children to learn 21st-century skills for a 21st-century world, and coding teaches them the creativity and problem-solving skills that are necessary for success."-John Thune, U.S. Senator

"Learning to write programs stretches your mind, and helps you think better, creates a way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains."-Bill Gate, Co-founder of Microsoft
